To Whom It May Concern,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing on behalf of the Southeast Bulloch High School Science Olympiad team to request your support in helping our students continue their pursuit of excellence in STEM education.
Southeast Bulloch High School is a rural public school that serves a diverse community of students, many of whom lack access to the advanced resources available to students in more affluent districts. Despite these challenges, our Science Olympiad program provides rigorous extracurricular STEM opportunities to approximately 55 dedicated students. Our season spans the entire school year, with preparations beginning in July and continuing through the spring.
Science Olympiad is a nationally recognized STEM competition consisting of 23 interdisciplinary events that test students in subjects ranging from biology and physics to engineering and computer science. These events develop students’ problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills—all of which are essential for success in modern STEM careers.
While our students bring tremendous dedication, talent, and resilience to the program, they often face obstacles that their counterparts from metro Atlanta and private schools do not. Many of our competitors live near tournament venues and attend schools with access to specialized coursework in computer science, engineering, and research. In contrast, our team must travel long distances—often requiring overnight stays—and operates without many of the advanced STEM courses offered in larger, better-funded districts.
In spite of these barriers, we are proud to share that Southeast Bulloch High School was the 2024 Class-A State Science Olympiad Champion and the 2025 Class-A State Runner-Up. These achievements highlight our students’ extraordinary work ethic and passion for science, as they continue to prove that talent and determination can rival privilege and resources.
To ensure that all qualified students—regardless of financial background—can continue to compete and gain valuable career skills, we are seeking sponsorships and donations from community and industry partners who value equitable access to STEM education.
Your support would go directly toward essential needs such as team supplies, registration fees, uniforms, educational resources, and travel expenses for the 2025–2026 season. In recognition of your generosity, sponsors will receive:
A framed team photo as a token of our appreciation
Recognition on our 2025–2026 team banner, displayed at all events we attend and host
A personalized thank-you letter from our student leadership team
Tax ID documentation for your records (provided upon request)
We are grateful for any level of support you can offer. Donation checks can be made payable to Southeast Bulloch High School, with “Science Olympiad” noted in the memo line and mailed to our school address 9184 Brooklet-Denmark Rd, Booklet GA, 30415. For more information or to discuss sponsorship opportunities, please contact us at southeastscioly@gmail.com or reach out to our coach, Danielle Hibbs-Heiser, directly at dhibbs@bullochschools.org.
Thank you for considering an investment in the future of our students and the advancement of STEM education in underserved communities. Your support will have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of these hardworking young scientists.
Sincerely,
SEB STEM Club Officers
